Getting colder

Oatmeal pancakes

Shepherd’s pie

Curried cauliflower, nann, cucumber chutney and coconut peas

More caulking, dapping and painting for everyone else and apparently it was freezing, but I didn’t notice it also sleeted. And Justin left us today.

Nann...ish.

Caulking and dapping

Poached eggs with parmesan toast and chunky tomato sauce

Black bean soup and nachos

Pear and sausage pie, creamed spinach and artichoke, candied nut salad

More caulking and dapping on the starboard side now and poor Jesse fell in the water while reaching up to the hull.

Day off

Very slow day off, went to the library for awhile looking up food things and reading cook books and in the afternoon worked on a puzzle of a tall ship with Katie and Jesse.

Bottom paint

Apple chedder scones and sausage

Pizza

Beef stew and brown bread

I keep making treats for snack time because everyone is hungry and allows them to come inside and warm up for a little. I do really miss being on deck and hanging out with everyone, being cook is very lonely. More caulking was done today and they took off copper from the through bolts on the engines. They also started painting, the bottom paint is so thick it just globs out.

Shopping

Omelets and bacon

Tomato soup with grilled cheese

Pulled pork tacos with pico de gallo

The top and cross trees were put on their masts, the shrouds were tarred, wire seizing made on turn backs and I went shopping with John, only took an hour.

Top on the lower.

Food

Johnny cakes

Sausages, kraut, homemade buns, and potato salad

Homemade raviolis, veggies and salad

Sam kept heating his dap on the stove because it was really cold out. I made full menu plan and shopping list for the next week so I wouldn’t stress about what to make and would only have to go shopping one day a week. I’ve also been smart about cooking and prepping things in advance, like bread or marinating meat.
