This morning we all worked on things related to the mizzen royal so that we could put it up tomorrow. I painted ironwork and then served a soft eye wire splice. Tome and Little Frog worked on serving as well. We deep cleaned crew areas today and it got done pretty quickly so I ended up helping afternoon work party tar some things.
Right before dinner Grant departed the ship while he was on watch. Leaving Green Bay we had a lot of time to spare before we had to be in Port Washington so we followed the wind. Sadly Grant had received a call that his Grandmother had passed away, but lucky for him we were able to drop him off in Michigan pretty close to where he needed to be.
