Another rainy day so more work inside. Kat and I varnished a column in the great cabin and now it looks greater. Before it was a really dark stain and there was paint splattered all over it, now it’s down to wood and a good colour. Katie and Grant were doing a safety check, the fire extinguishers, fire alarms, safety rings and air horns. Katie later painted a fire extinguisher bracket, cleaned the tank room, oiled the chest of drawers and painted the galley door. Grant ended up doing more patch serving and tarring. Brooke was sewing most of the day and I later joined her, the jib sheet pennant finally has all its chafe gear sewn on. The bolt rope is also pretty much all in place, just a few loose places that need more sewing and now we’ll finally get to work on the actual canvas of the sail. Ethan was doing things with Peter, fixing the leak in the shower, which we think really comes from the galley sink.
