St. George, Bermuda

While I was making breakfast, the rest of the crew was helping dock the boat at St. George, Bermuda. After the boat was cleaned up a little we were all let loose for the day. I walked around the town a little bit, cute little houses, flowers growing everywhere. All the hoses have white roofs with ridges so that the rainwater all flows to one drain pie and then collects in a cistern beneath the house; there is no natural water source here. There were a few abandoned houses and the ruins of a gothic cathedral, the cathedral was built in the 1800’s and lack of funds made the building stop and then in 1926 a hurricane took away the roof. Since this was also our day off I did spend some time relaxing, underway no one really gets a real day off.

Old church.
White roofs to collect rain water.
